Originally from New York Barbara moved to the U.S. Virgin Islands in 1970 to teach Special Education. She quickly adjusted to “island life” - casual living, lots of partying and plenty of alcohol. Eventually she met her husband – a local man, Noble Samuel and she settled down. But after ten years of marriage, at the height of their professional and social careers, there was an emptiness in their souls. Noble turned to the Bible, eventually coming to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, but Barbara clung to her god – rum. It was only after seeing the transforming power of the Indwelling Christ change her husband – giving him true joy and peace, that Barbara finally admitted that the void in her soul could only be filled by Christ also. And so they began to experience the Reality of “Being in Christ.”

 

Together they began seeking to know The Truth of their Salvation, enjoying the New Life they had received, and desiring to share this with others: not a religion, but the Reality of Salvation – a relationship of Eternal Oneness with God through His Son Jesus Christ – NOW! Over the years the Lord has joined them with many like-minded hungry Believers and they began Pastoring in St. Croix, V.I. in 1991. The Lord gave them the name for this fellowship: “A Gathering Unto Christ in Spirit and Truth”, and that Work of God continues today – gathering all unto Christ.

 

Since Noble’s passing in 2004 Barbara continues to Pastor in St. Croix, but the Lord has brought her to be joined to many others throughout His Body, and she travels extensively in Costa Rica, Mexico as well as the United States. Several of these brethren have joined with her on this website to make the Good News of “CHRIST IN YOU” – The Reality of our Salvation NOW – known. And we offer these writings both in English and Spanish. Although we may all be different and come from different places and cultures, the message is the same. We determine to know nothing but JESUS CHRIST and HIM CRUCIFIED! (1 Corinthians 2:2) But this is not just a doctrine that we preach: The Truth of this Christ is a Living Reality, and God desires the Living of this Reality in us as Believers. My prayer for the Body of Christ is not just that we memorize and preach Galatians 2:20, but that we be the Living Manifestation of this Reality. “ I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
